Belt-drive Bikes

Our belt-drive models replace the traditional chain, sprockets and derailleur with carbon-reinforced belts. For many riders, it's a revelation. These bikes are virtually maintenance free. With no oily chain, no rust and no derailleur adjustments, our belt-drive bikes deliver quiet, dependable performance with almost no maintenance.

Instead of multiple gears, the Bafang H720 motors that these bikes use have a built-in dual speed gearbox. 

For most beach riding and everyday recreational riding, that's exactly what you need.

Belt drive bikes are perfect for beaches, coastal towns, holiday homes, undulating forest and farm roads and any other suitable surface. 

If your riding isn't particularly steep, belt drive is almost always the drivetrain we'd choose every time.

Chain & Derailleur Bikes

Traditional doesn't mean outdated.

A chain and derailleur still offers one major advantage: Maximum climbing ability. Built to conquer steep climbs and demanding terrain.

Multiple gears allow the motor to stay in its optimum operating range on very steep climbs.

If your adventures regularly take on:

• Long mountain climbs

• Steep forestry roads

• Technical trails

• Towing a bike trailer

• Continuous elevation gain

Then the extra gearing of a chain and derailleur drivetrain is well worth it.

The trade-off is that chain systems require more maintenance. Chains need lubrication and derailleurs need occasional adjustment. Sprockets wear out over time.

For riders tackling serious hills, however, the gearing ratio offered by a belt drive simply won’t give you the cadence to get up steep hills – even with the motor giving maximum power.
